ENGLISH Students shared wonderful stories in the Spin-A-Yarn activity with the help of animal puppets. They learnt to construct sentence through a pebble activity. The students participated and prepared a yummy Honey fruit salad in class. This was done to foster the concept of Step-by-step Instructional writing. Post this, students wrote the steps involved in preparing the salad in their notebook. Children went for a nature walk to spot the bees in the garden and searched for bee hives. Nature walk was to understand the habitat of the bee and its nature in the ecosystem. This was an activity for the chapter “How to make a Hovering Bee”. As integration in the art class, students had a fun time and learnt how to make a hovering bee made out of paper. हिंदी: छात्रों को स्वर व व्यंजन की पुनरावृत्ति करवाई गयी। गतिविधि द्वारा छात्रों को का अभ्यास करवाया गया जिसमें छात्रों ने विद्यालय भ्रमण द्वारा अपने आसपास देखे जाने वाली चीज़ों को सूचीबद्ध किया। इससे छात्रों की नीव मज़बूत हुई और उन्होने जाना कि मात्राओं के सही प्रयोग से हे हम नए और सार्थक शब्दों का निर्माण कर सकते हैं। छात्रों को सप्ताह के दिन और महीनों के नाम का ज्ञान हुआ। छात्रों को चित्र द्वारा गया। छात्रों को पाठ 'मम्मी तुम कितनी अच्छी हो' का अभ्यास कार्य करवाया गया ताकि छात्र अपने माता के प्रति अपने प्यार औरर सम्मान को समझें और उनके पठान व लेखन कौशल का विकास हो। MATH Taking the students learning from their previous grade, they learnt about the place value of numbers using resources - place value blocks, ganit mala, number cards and so on. The conceptual understanding of students was strengthened using hands-on approach. Students also enthusiastically participated in games related to numbers. They learnt to compare numbers by looking at different place of numbers. Numerical patterns was established using number cards and patterns in nature. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE (EVS) Students understood about internal and external organs as part of the lesson on Human Body. This was done through singing and dancing session which they enthusiastically participated. They visited the Science lab to look at the models of internal organs that were displayed there which added to their understanding. Their learning was further enhanced by fun activities like running on the spot and feeling the heartbeat to learn about functioning of heart and inflating the balloon to learn about the functioning of lungs. They learnt about the 5 sense organs and their functions through a Nature walk around the school premises. During Nature Walk students were taken outdoors to the garden where they saw the flowers, touched them and smelled them and learnt about the sense to see, touch and smell. ART AND POTTERY Students were introduced to art materials and the techniques of using them. Children learnt how to make profile of a human face basic human body structure. Integration with English saw children enthusiastically learn and made hovering bee. They also made a poster drawing to celebrate the importance of Earth day. INDIAN MUSIC Students learnt basic musical notes and practiced basic sargam, with rhythm and rhythm clapping activity. Students learned a beautiful song ’रंग बिरंगी धरती' and performed in the special assembly on Earth day. WESTERN MUSIC Students learned the 7 musical alphabet with great fun and body part movements. They also learned to sing a beautiful song “A gift to you". PHYSICAL EDUCATION Students had a grand time when they come to their PE classes. This month they learnt the nuances of throwing the ball and catching. They were divided into 2 teams. Zig Zag ball rally with a combination of both throwing and catching was done to stress the importance of timing and focus. Students thoroughly enjoyed this game where they had fun at the same time competitive. ICT The children learnt about computer as an electronic device and about the different things that a computer can do. An activity was conducted in the ICT class, where the kids enacted that they were a computer and a human to understand the difference between both. Input – Process - Output cycle was introduced. This concept was understood through real life examples like washing clothes, cooking, sharpening a pencil etc. DRAMA Students learnt various acting tips to develop their acting skills. The importance of body language, voice modulation and clarity of speech while acting was stressed upon. Dialogue delivery with expression was taught to the kids and this was acted upon by few students in the class to showcase their understanding. LIFE SKILLS
School Counsellor built rapport with students. Students got to identify the need of counsellor, when they are resolving conflicts, memorizing things or time management. Students also understood that they each one of them were unique in their own way and have differences. These differences with respect to colour, religion, appearance does not matter in developing relationships in life. The same concept was taught to them by narrating story “A lonely Scarecrow” and “The elephant and sparrow”. Student also learnt to practice being mindful through some activities - like be a bee, lazy eight, star breathing and many more. This would help them to overcome feelings of anxiety, anger and fear.
